Nebuchadnezzar's Humbling and Restoration

Daniel 4:28-37

Chapter 4
28 All this came upon Nebuchadnezzar the king. 29 At the end of twelve months, he was walking in the palace of the kingdom that is in Babylon. They will drive you from men, and with the living creatures you will be fed. They will make you eat grass like oxen, and seven times will pass over you until you know that the Most High has sovereignty in the kingdom of men, and he gives it to whom he wills. 30 The king answered and said, "Is it not this great Babel that I have built as a house for my kingdom by the might of my strength and for the glory of my majesty?" 31 Still the word was in the mouth of the king when a voice from the heavens fell, saying, "Nebuchadnezzar the king, your kingdom has passed from you." 32 They will drive you from mankind, and your dwelling will be with the living beings of the field. They will make you graze on the grass of the field like oxen, and seven times will pass over you until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom he wills. 33 At that time the word was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven out from mankind, and he ate grass like oxen, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until his hair grew like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws. 34 At the end of his days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to the heavens, and my knowledge returned to me, and I blessed and praised and glorified the Most High, who has dominion—an eternal dominion—and his kingdom from generation to generation. 35 And all the dwellers of the earth are reckoned as nothing, and according to his will he does in the host of heaven and the dwellers of earth, and there is none who can restrain his hand and say to him, "What have you done?" 36 At that time my knowledge returned to me, and the splendor of my kingship—its majesty and its brightness—returned to me. My counselors and wise men sought me out, my kingship was restored to me, and even greater majesty was added to me. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and honor the King of Heaven, whose works are all truth and whose paths are justice. He is able to humble those who walk in pride.
